5 good reasons to go camping during the school holidays
Going away outside the school holidays, when you can afford it, has many advantages that appeal to many tourists. Why not try it yourself?
What does it mean to go on holiday out of season?
Going on holiday out of season means going away outside peak tourist periods, and therefore generally outside school holidays. These holiday periods are busy because that's when families can go away with their children, and July and August are often considered to be the best time of the year to go on holiday.
However, there are other times of the year that are just as enjoyable and offer many other benefits. Stay put and we'll tell you why!
Off-season holidays: what are the benefits?
1- Avoid peak times
Are you looking for more peace and quiet and want to avoid the crowds of tourists? Then off-season holidays are for you! By going away outside the school holidays, you can avoid both the local holidaymakers and the traffic jams on the way to your holiday destination. Less stress and more comfort!
2- Save money
En partant hors saison, vous bénéficiez de tarifs plus intéressants qui vous permettront peut-être de partir plus longtemps ou de profiter de gammes d'hébergements premium. C'est également l'occasion de s'offrir plus de petits plaisirs sur place.
By going out of season, you benefit from lower prices, which may allow you to stay longer or discover our premium accommodation. It's also an opportunity to indulge in more little pleasures on site.
3- More availabilities
Fewer holidaymakers means more availability. Benefit from a wider choice of accommodation and find the mobile home or pitch that's right for you! You can also go away for just a few days, which is not necessarily possible during the school holidays when accommodation is usually rented by the week.
4- Discover the authentic atmosphere of the region
Take advantage of the calm of the low season to discover your holiday destination in a different way. With fewer visitors and landscapes to enjoy away from the crowds, it's the ideal time to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the region and enjoy the wonders it has to offer. Especially as the weather is sometimes more pleasant outside July and August, so you can explore the surrounding area without too much heat.
5- There's plenty to do even in the low season!
As much as we enjoy the peace and quiet on holiday, we also like to take advantage of activities, shops and a bit of life! And that's just as well, because at our Cybele Vacances campsites, there's always plenty to do and see, even outside the school holidays! Although there are fewer activities and events than during the school holidays, they will brighten up your days and evenings. As for the services and shops (restaurants, bars, grocery shops, bike hire, etc.), they'll ensure you don't put your comfort aside and enjoy the pleasures that are also part of your holiday. And let's not forget the covered and heated aquatic areas, where you can relax and have fun whatever the weather!
What are the off-season periods for camping?
In almost all tourist sectors, all periods outside the school holidays are considered to be out of season. In the case of our campsites, which are open from April to November, the off-season corresponds broadly to the months of May, June, September and October, and more specifically to all the weeks outside the school holidays in spring, summer and All Saints' Day.
Our Les Brillas (Loire Atlantique) and Les Albères (Pyrénées Orientales) campsites are open from April to mid-September. Our campsites in Vendée, L'Océan and Le Bel Air, are open from the April to All Saints' Day holidays. So you can take advantage of several off-season periods to discover camping in a different way!
